NO. NEVER AGAIN

In my previous Blog, I ended with a question- “ Who looted us more- The British or our very own elected Governments?”
My intention was to make you ponder on this very issue before I put forth my views; and as I mentioned these are based of on 'my observations' & “my personal views”. Neither am I a crafty politician nor am I a paid media network. So rest assured folks, I am not going to shove my opinion down your throat, unlike the aforementioned entities.

Before we talk about the British Raj or the Governments, I think we need to discuss something else. How have “We” as “individuals” or “citizens” contributed to the stalling of our nation’s development? No marks for guessing. We have contributed ….and contributed IMMENSELY to our country’s growth paralysis.
It all starts with our attitude -The attitude of being “okay with imperfection”; or in other words, we Indians have been suffering from the “Chalta hai” syndrome.

The technician promises to come within 4 hrs but it takes him 5 and a half hours. If you even ask him, he might roll his eyes. Five and a half hours can definitely be rounded off to 4 (in India). So you leave it beacuse........Chalta hai !
Ours is a country where if a fallen tree blocks the road, people will look at the tree, walk around it and continue going down the same road. Hardly will he/she waste his/her time thinking about that worthless piece of log. Why? Beacause ....Chalta Hai!
Only when things start getting way too difficult for the public, the transport and locomotion becomes tougher, only then will someone give a damn.
These instances might sound trivial but in a country that’s reeling under the canopy of poverty, corruption and fanaticism, the correction must begin at the roots i.e the most trivial ‘but’ fundamental issues must b sorted first.  Here, the fundamental issue being ‘Us’.
Everyone in our country waits till the problem gets really big. Only then does it qualify as "A PROBLEM".
Its high time. Its now or never. If we don't change even now, the inertia of it will pull us deeper into the abyss of deniability.
We have to change the way we look at & perceive things. We need to speak up. Every speck of imperfection must be dealt with. We need to respond more and react less.
Be the change. Spread the word.
It begins with the “No” or “ Nahi”.
No more okayness with imperfection.

Ab yeh Nahi Chalega

Who looted us more?

I am not too sure of the verbatim, but there is a saying in English “Nothing is constant in this world except change.”
I was born in the 90s. India was a “developing country” then. It’s been more than 2 decades but our country continues to remain a “developing country”. Well, where is the change?
Earlier, when someone would ask the lawmakers and people in power the reason for this strange lack of development, they would conveniently blame the British for having plundered our country and taken away its wealth and resources. As there was a lack of resources and wealth, Development took a good hit.
The British packed their bags 70 years ago. Now, since the argument of “British Rule” in this regard seems extremely ridiculous, they now choose to blame India’s ever growing population. One wonders how China is doing so great then.
Just like any other citizen of my country, I am very well aware of the fact that successive governments, in the course of the past 70 years, have taken us for a ride. They have looted us shamelessly over the years.
This brings us to a very important question “Who looted us more – The British or our very own elected Governments?”
